Now a 3rd grade teacher, Sarah Bell began her tenure at John B. Riebli as a first/second grade, combination teacher in 1996.
A native Californian, Sarah did relocate temporarily to Greenfield, Massachusetts . During her time in Massachusetts, she taught first and second grade; received extensive early literacy training at the The University of Massachusetts and participated in professional development opportunities in the Boston area.
What Sarah loves most about teaching is creating lessons that are challenging, fun and creative She believes that when kids are challenged in a caring environment where they feel supported, they will make the most significant academic gains. Her favorite subjects to teach include: writing, science and art. Sarah feels very fortunate to learn in partnership with children and loves that each day presents a new challenge!
In her free time, Sarah enjoys spending time with her 15 year old son, William; who is currently taking flying lessons in preparation to become a pilot!. Together they share two adorable cats, Shadow and Lexie. Sarah also enjoys hiking, biking, boating and singing! A fan of Jazz Standards and the blues, Sarah has even performed Karaoke on stage a few times!
